Thank you to everyone who came out for their first spring league game and who helped support our Women’s National Team. They sent their regards…

“On behalf of the Canadian Women’s National Team (WNT), I would just like to say thank you for supporting the girls in their journey to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games by donating $320.00 over the opening weekend of junior league. Your support is greatly appreciated and every bit helps as the girls continue to train and compete over in Europe in preparation for qualification tournaments.
Congratulations go out to Bonnie Lo who won the WNT dry fit training shirt and Lisette Hay for winning the WNT rain jacket in our draw for those who donated. Both winners were very excited to hear they had won. Thank you again to all those who donated. The Victoria field hockey community is AWESOME in its’ support for our national team athletes. "

Looking forward to seeing everyone’s faces this opening weekend. There is some exciting news as some of you may not know but our Canadian Women’s Field Hockey Team is currently training and playing in Belgium in preparation for Olympic qualification for the 2020 Games in Tokyo, Japan. The team has been fundraising for the past few months to help subsidize the tremendous costs associated with this process. You are invited to take a few minutes to read their story – it is truly inspiring. Please check out their Make a Champ website…..you’ll be glad you did!

Many of these athletes volunteered within the junior league themselves! To now give back to them we are collecting donations in support. Please feel free to follow the link below to donate online or there will be a donation bucket located at the Field Hockey Shack tent both Saturday and Sunday, we kindly ask that if possible to donate anything, every little bit counts!

The last day of the season is Sunday June 23, 2019.

Players will receive a league t-shirt and mouth guard at their first session. It is mandatory that players wear shin guards and mouth guards when they are participating. A player will not be allowed to participate in practices or games without wearing a mouth guard and shin guards.

Running shoes or Turf shoes are best – soccer cleats are not allowed as they damage the water-based turf. Players are encouraged to wear black shorts, and are asked to provide their own stick. If you don’t have a stick you may be able to sign one out to borrow for the season.

Looking forward to a great season.
