2011 Registration Update

Posted by Milena Gaiga at Jan 22, 2011 3:31PM PST

The Victoria Junior Field Hockey Spring League Season is soon approaching (April 3 to June 20, 2011).

Registration for this season is slightly delayed as we are moving to an ONLINE REGISTRATION system this year and we are just finalizing the system.

If you are interested in registering for the upcoming season please find instructions in the "Registration Information Sheet" found in the Registration Information and Forms Link in the left hand column of this page. The registration information sheet will provide you with the league information as well as the new steps to register your child/self.

As we wait for the launch of the new online registration system (February 6 tentative date), you can complete Step One of the registration process which requires you to register with Field Hockey BC (FHBC) first before being able to proceed through our registration system.

All spring league members are required to be Field Hockey BC members (insurance and other membership services depending on the age). Please visit their membership website at
https://www.fieldhockeybc.ca/fhbc/membership.php to register. Once you have received confirmation of your FHBC membership number you will promptly be able to enter our registration system. If you already have a FHBC membership number for 2010/11 then you will not need to register again (this will pertain to participants U16 and higher who currently are playing in the men’s and ladies leagues).

We are also hosting 2 Come Try the Game Free Days on Sunday Feb 6 and March 6 from 10-11am on UVIC Turf Field 2A. If you know of anyone who may be interested in trying the game out please have them email me at mgaiga@shaw.ca or 250-388-9232 to register for one of the sessions. We provide the equipment.

As soon as we get a confirmation date on when the Online Registration is ready to go, an email will be sent out to participants from the 2010 Junior Spring League to notify you.

On behalf of the board and the coaches we are looking forward to the upcoming 2011 Spring League.

Victoria – Victoria Field Hockey’s Tournament Organizing Committee, in conjunction with Field Hockey Canada and Field Hockey BC has released the 2010 FHC Senior National Championships Match Schedule, for Men and Women, being held at the University of Victoria from June 30 to July 04.

Round robin play and the Opening Ceremonies will commence on Wednesday, June 30 with playoffs to determine medal game finalists on Saturday, July 03. Championship title games will be on Sunday, July 04 starting at 9:00 am.

The Senior National Championships is the most important event for all top provincial athletes competing for positions on Junior and Senior National Teams representing Canada at Olympic Games, World Cups, Commonwealth and Pan American Games.

“Hosting the Senior Nationals is a continuation of Field Hockey Victoria’s commitment, to promote the identification and growth of Canada’s future elite men and women field hockey athletes” said Gail Williams, Tournament Organizing Committee Chair.
