The Victoria Junior Field Hockey Association’s Annual General Meeting for 2011 will be held on Monday September 26, 2011.

2. Vikes Co-Ed Field Hockey Camp – Aug 15-19, 9am-12pm, Ages 8-13yrs
This Co-ed development camp, run by Vikes’ coaches and varsity athletes, is geared to all levels of field hockey enthusiasts. Campers will be instructed in all fundamental skills of the game. Campers will be grouped by skill level.

3. Vikes Elite Girl’s Field Hockey Camp – Aug 15-18, 6-8:30pm. Ages 13-18 yrs
In this four day camp, Vikes varsity coaches and members of the women’s field hockey team will instruct campers in basic skills, advanced technical skills, specialized skills and game tactics. Participant must have participated in the Island Regional Program.

FALL PROGRAMS

UVIC Women’s Field Hockey – Rising Stars Program
Skill Development program for all levels aged 8 to 18
Rising Star field hockey program includes:
• 35 hours of field hockey specific knowledge(technical skills, speed and agility, core stability, and indoor hockey)
• Professional coaching from Varsity coaches and athletes

Girls (ages 8-12)training sessions 3:30PM – 5:00PM
Girls (ages 13-18)training sessions 5:00PM – 6:30PM
All sessions will be held on SUNDAYS at the University of Victoria Field Turf from September 11th, 2011 to April 1st, 2012
COST $450.00 (for participants 8 – 14 yrs. old) $450.00 + HST = $504.00 (for participants 15-18 yrs. old)

Saturday June 18 and Sunday June 19 will conclude the 2011 Junior Field Hockey Spring League.

We hope the participants enjoyed their season and we look forward to another successful season next year.

For the second year in a row, University of Victoria Vikes’ Field Hockey pitch will play home to the largest domestic tournament of the year. Not only will the tournament showcase the best of Canada’s men’s and women’s field hockey players but it will also be a great stepping ground for Canada’s Junior national team athletes.

The tournament is scheduled for June 29th to July 3rd, 2011 and is anticipating 8 women’s and 5 men’s teams from across the country. With the majority of the Senior national team squads being made up of British Columbians, there will be both a British Columbia “A” team and Junior National team in both the men’s and women’s divisions that will both be anticipated to reach the medal rounds.
